Direct democracy on bills only to show our representatives what we would like them to choose. This would expose any major corruption e.g. if over 80% of people voted yes on a bill and the senator still votes no they could decide to not vote for him in upcoming election. What do y’all think?
How are you going to have people vote on the bills? Are they going to have adequate time to fully read the bill or is it going to be as Pelosi once said “we need to pass the bill to see what is in it?” Most bills are pretty big and in legalese, how are you going to break them down into easy to read sections? How are you going to make sure everyone knows the mark ups and additions to each and every bill? How are you going to make sure everyone knows about new bills that up for a vote? Do you think the majority of people will care or have the time to read the bills?
Wouldn’t be an issue with single issue bills.
That’s up to each person how much they want to get involved. This question is the same as asking if the people will do their research on even presidential candidates…. The majority don’t understand politics and are brainwashed either left or right team. Might as well throw out regular voting as well because all that matters is who can lie better to the public.
Single bills, and no more 1000-page bills.
How about this. Pay our bills first. Period. 2nd) Use generic categories like the ones on this site. Take care of these categories first before helping other nations + No fluff items … zero dollars for non critical things. 3) Run dollars for other nations thru the specific countries diplomatic group. They should see that the dollars are spent wisely. US personnel is going to know exactly what is needed for self sufficiency. NGO’s should never be part of this process. Let’s help nations in need to stand on their own. TOUGH LOVE.
