What: Increase Pell grant awards (150%/200%/etc.) for students declaring majors in fields critical to the American economy with anticipated job demand. Pay for these increased awards by reducing or eliminating awards for students declaring majors in fields not likely to result in gainful employment.
Why: American taxpayers should not be subsidizing students to major in unemployment; studies in such majors should be funded by the individual, parents, and/or other private sources. Tax dollars should be invested to allow every American citizen to pursue gainful employment through the acquisition of knowledge/skills.
Benefits:
Will stimulate economic growth by supplying skilled labor resources.
Will increase return on investment (ROI) for American taxpayers & students.
Will result in much higher level of gainful employment by college graduates.
Will serve to defund degree programs that do not contribute economically/serve to indoctrinate American youth in Marxist propaganda.
