This post seeks to correct the dangers of local, small, corporations and non-profits that service the public with a consumable product, that may become harmful due to a lack of educational requirements set forth by State or Federal Governments.
I am a member of a 501c-12, non-profit, water company that was producing poisonous drinking water to our members for almost 2 decades, which lead to many complaints and news articles when members complained, but, no changes were made even though we notified government agencies like the department of health. I got involved and lead a class action law suit against the water company and they settled. I also established a Committee to ascertain the issues that lead to the failures of service. I found that the system was grossly mismanaged due to a lack of required training for board members. Because of this, and seeing the harm it causes, It is my request to see the government set standards for training for all companies, no matter the Tax ID Status, so that the public will be safe, and, if untrained but sits on a decision making body, will be imprisoned. This will insure that everyone gets the same quality of product across the nation, and will still allow the freedom to vote individuals from the general public onto board seats if they have met the required training.
Resolve: That the US Government establish Minimum Training levels for all citizens seeking to hold a decision making position on a board of directors that produces a consumable product to the public.
