American Culture: Ushering in a new Golden Age
If divisive ideologies are a virus, then a strong and pervasive domestic culture is the immune response.
As the fourth largest nation in the world, America suffers from a lack of strong cultural identity; Each region of the United States differs from another so vastly that it’s impossible to describe what America is, and how Americans are.
This kind of dissonance within America is causing Americans to adopt values which are grossly anathema to American exceptionalism. Many European countries, for example, never have and never will accept LGBTQ, Trans, or Communist ideologies because their own cultural values are dominant. Despite being ruled by the iron fist of communist Soviets, countries such as Hungary, Czechia, Bulgaria and many others ultimately deposed their communist regimes as they consider communism too alien a concept to adopt. Meanwhile, Americans flock to embrace toxic feminism, LGBTQ, Trans and communist movements that are tearing its communities apart.
It is imperative that the United States make Culture and Entertainment an important part of its national defence strategy, if we prefer the American way of life to not be only one generation from extinction. If the disruptive force’s agenda is to destroy history and culture (as evident in the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the Russian purges), then America must do everything it can to preserve and strengthen it.
Cultural Problems to Resolve
America is a very young country. With such short history yet large geography, it struggles to find a unifying culture across the nation. As an open and forgiving society, this void can be exploited by foreign nations seeking to wreak havoc to the American identity.
Strong culture and entertainment policies should seek to rectify several problems which are dividing Americans today.
1. Re-establish meaningful interpersonal connections.
Our reliance on digital devices is taking us away from meaningful human interactions. Societies disintegrate when people do not connect and interact face-to-face. When communities get together to view and produce artistic expression, it creates common topics and unity– shared laughter, joy, and emotional investments are powerful motivations for humans to maintain relationships.
2. Create a strong sense of community, pride, and belonging.
Every Golden Age in the past of every empire and nation was marked by a tremendous amount of cultural and artistic output. Americans will not find it necessary to explore the values or ideas of foreign nations (particular the divisive tomfoolery of disruptive powers) if their own country outputs significant cultural influence on the rest of the world.
3. Uniting Americans by finding joy in differences.
Using art and entertainment teach Americans about the country in which they live can be a subtle but effective endeavor. A country as large as America will undoubtedly have internal regional stereotypes. By giving Americans the opportunity to appreciate works of art and expression from other regions of the country and walks of life, Americans can better understand the lives of everyone else and come to realize that differences among Americans are superficial, and that their shared love of God and country is what truly unites them. Where there is too much love and joy, there is no room for hate.
4. End short form media and reliance on foreign cultural output.
Short-form media is subject to malign influence. It also causes addiction to phones. The removal of short-form and mindless media requires replacing it with meaningful and thoughtful alternatives, as outlined in this compendium.
5. Reduce substance abuse.
Substance abuse stems from several reasons. Some of which can be addressed here:
a) Boredom – In case of illegal substances such as cocaine, heroin, or meth, the lack of entertainment, community, and belonging can cause individuals to spiral into substance abuse. No one does drugs if there are better things to do in life and have people they can laugh with.
b) Rebellious Behavior – In the case of legal substances such as alcohol, positive education and associating its use with happiness (rather than thrill-seeking) can prevent reliance and abuse.
c) Emotional Sedative – Laughter and joy can heal wounds associated with abuse and trauma. People may find less incentive to reach for drugs or commit suicide if they have alternative ways to cope with past pains.
d) Lack of purpose – A larger strata of society pursues training and education in the arts, but are often left with no outlet for their talent or skill. Giving purpose to this group would prevent them from chasing substance.
6. Destroying avenues for propaganda and systemic control.
In a system where a select strata of society, be it producers, publishers, or managers, can choose what the public can consume, it becomes easy to poison the cultural well. If the curating class becomes affected by an ideology differing from American values, they can quickly propagandize their beliefs with few checks and balances.
We can reinforce American culture by reforming the Film, Television, Music, Arts, Theatre, Comedy, Travel, Culinary Arts and Alcohol industries.
We must fortify American culture with three main concepts in mind.
1. Make Americans Happy.
Making Americans happy does not mean sedating them with mindless content. Instead, it’s encouraging Americans to play a more active role in creating, ranking, and filtering content to their liking. It is no longer acceptable that systems such as the Hollywood Elites be the sole arbiter of quality and values presented in entertainment forms. The average American should be able to have outlets for their creativity, and be a participant in demanding quality and responsible entertainment.
A happy and fulfilled individual will defend their life with more fervour and passion than hollow, empty, and vapid individuals.
2. Make Americans Proud.
America is republic. A republic is one which accepts differences and comes to a consensus between all participating entities. Culture and Entertainment can be subtle ways to teach Americans that the differences in the ways of life between a Texas Cowboy and a New York Stock Broker is only superficial, but that their shared homeland has given them the opportunity to live the lives they want.
Americans should learn that shared values and beliefs is what makes the country stronger and better. As Evelyn Beatrice Hall once wrote: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
3. Make American Culture Dominant.
It is important that not only Americans appreciate its domestic culture, but that the world’s entire should aspire to American meritocracy - Hardwork, responsibility, and self-reliance can and should lead to prosperity and plentiful living. American culture should be the engine that propels creative and passionate endeavors from individuals all over the world to castigate divisiveness and tyranny, instead seeking harmony and prosperity.
This compendium will focus on providing policies that will bolster American creativity, unite Americans based on value, and strengthen Americans against invasive ideologies. This collection of policy suggestions contains observations to catalyze, promote and encourage the development of American culture: it does not seek to break or interfere with market forces. It also seeks to de-liberalize and de-centralize the incestuous and unhealthy swamp that is the current entertainment elites. This compendium is the work of an aspiring film and TV producer who spent many years being discriminated due to his conservative political beliefs.
The human race’s love for laughter, music, and stories transcends all social and cultural barriers, and will serve as a valuable keystone to unite Americans for many decades to come.
