All patient records, x-rays, images, medication, notes, etc. should reside in a national database so that the patient and any doctors & insurance companies can be given permission to view everything necessary in one place. We currently have to fill out this same information on forms in every doctor office we go to. The database will also contain the financial & health care power of attorney documents for the patient so that doctors and insurance companies know they can talk to the POA when necessary without the POA needed to fax or mail copies of these documents to each person that needs them (many places don’t allow emailing the POA documents and it takes weeks to process).
