Career criminals, junkies who constantly steal to fuel their addiction and people who seem to simply be unable to lead a law-abiding life are a nuisance and danger to American society. Locking them up for life may be a good solution because it keeps them out of society, but they will keep committing crimes in prison and will have to be fed by taxpayers.
If these people have forfeited the right to live among us, why should they have the right to live at all?
Create a new federal statute that encompasses any person who is convicted of a violent or drug-related felony for the third time. State felonies should also count. Any person who falls under the new statute must receive a mandatory federal death sentence with reduced possibilities of appeals to expedite his execution. Special courts should be created to handle these cases quickly and efficiently.
This would reduce the prison population quickly and put an end to the lives of those who are a danger to our society.
