We need policies in place that the next president can’t get rid of easily.
Constitutional Amendment: Ban on all Propaganda by Governments Foreign or Domestic, Federal or State Government to lead the American Public to the wrong conclusions.
○ Make all lies told by the government officials and news outlets a federal offence with 100k minimum fine per lie everytime it is written or spoken to the general public.
○ Propaganda lies told to damage a political opponent should ban the the speaker and their employer from holding government positions!
Constitutional Amendment: Term Limits & Behavior for Congress
○ House and Senate can only server 8 years in each position then must return to normal civilian workforce or run for president.
○ Members of Government cannot work for businesses or people that gave them any form of monetary benefits or support while in or running for office.
○ Members of government or their immediate family cannot trade in the stock market! Anyone caught making monetary gains of any form will face prosecution for insider trading!
☆ The only exceptions being a company on the stockmarket they personally own before running for office.
I do agree with your first Constitutional Amendment with a slight difference. By placing a fine on a government official, it would still leave doubts in the public as to the authenticity of the accused. I would suggest the fine, with in reason, and publicly apologize through a press release of all wrong doing. This would display the individuals level of creditability to the people, regardless of being sincere or not. To reach this punishment, it would have to be proven without a doubt in court and case completed.
News Media Outlets would be similar with a fine and publicly apologize for reporting intentional misleading information. A news media source is not suppose to choose a side or belief, only report facts. A news media source that is proven to be politically driven should be banned from taking part in political debates. This would force management to hold staff to a standard.
Note: By punishing the guilty and the guilty remaining quiet, it leaves people to make assumptions. By punishing the guilty and having them apologize for it will reduce doubts.
#2 Constitution Amendment regarding stock market trading:
S.2463 - Ban Stock Trading for Government Officials Act of 2023 (118th Congress) had been introduced to the Senate in 25 July 2023 with no success. This act is solely directed at Government Officials but the Stock Market should also be punished for knowingly accepting Government Officials. It is no different then an employer hiring undocumented workers. In addition, Government Officials purposely using an outside source to continue stock market trading should forfeit all stock earnings with additional fines and outside sources should be incarcerated.
