Comprehensive Plan - Increase availability of quality medical care - Applicable Categories: Education, Health, Economy

THIS PLAN IS ALSO POSTED UNDER EDUCATION

Comprehensive Plan to Increase Availability of Medical Care, which maximizes taxpayer return on investment through recruitment, education, and deployment of the best & brightest from the USA and possibly around the world into essential medical professions serving the American people. Includes reduction/cessation of educational funding for non-essential higher education majors, while increasing funding to the education of essential medical professionals. Deployment based on the same principles as in the military. Creating one-time permanent investments in infrastructure (including housing for deployed medical professionals) that will only need maintenance.
*Recruit top people from essential medical fields to train
(can contract with existing educational institutes)
*Recruit top academic students & tested adults from USA
and possibly around the world to be trained in essential
medical fields
*Educate provided with commitment contract
(suggestion 7-10 years upon completion of program)
(some portion may be to function as trainers & supervisors -
with possible contract extensions available)
*Clause for immediate repayment of education cost for
premature exit or breach of contract
*Provide housing and treatment facilities at deployment
locations (may partner with local governments and
communities to provide physical locations)
(This can be considered infrastructure with higher upfront
costs for permanent structures and equipment, but
reduced costs over time)
*Provision if housing means salaries can be maintained at
responsible levels & medical professionals can maximize
their own savings
*Program benefit citizens by increasing access to
essential medical care
*Program benefits citizens by providing education to any
qualifying person based on competency (meaning greater
access to education to those that are economically challenged)
*Program provides motivation to elementary, middle, & high school
students and their parents with a clear incentive
*Program provides direct benefit to citizens in ‘medical desert’
areas & reduces direct medical costs through deployment
*Program can provide career transition for all ages (qualified)
*At completion of contracts, medical professionals can harness
their skills for themselves as with any trade and have
solid training and resume. (If foreign students are recruited,
they can then go to their countries of origin or apply for
citizenship. If they return, this program could have positive
international relations impact. If they stay, they are a net
benefit to the American people.
*Program costs offset by review & reduction current education
spending to colleges, universities, and other programs for
non-essential professions and degrees. While those may
have value to the individual and community culture, they
should not be at the expense of taxpayers who often will
neither benefit from nor can afford to indulge in those
types of studies themselves. In addition, the taxpayers
are often then limited by employment requirements
when competing for employment with those who’s
educations and (often) the gratuitous salaries of the
educators/administrators the taxpayers. themselves, paid.
*Additional benefit: with an aging population and families
spread over wide geographic areas, there is an anticipated
shortage of healthcare/medical professionals.
