Families/Individuals who were financially impacted by the COVID should be compensated.
Many families were forced to endure large amount of costs in order to endure the pandemic. Many families paid for their children daycare or teaching in order to stay home from school due to the pandemic orders. Many students required parents to take time away from work, lose pay and their parents job performance was often impacted. Many other families were forced to enroll their students in non-public schools in order to get their child back to in person school, parents to return to full time work and not force their child to wear masks. Many of these children were denied the ability to return to their previous public school due to CA Immunization Laws and some of these families were forced to uproot and endure the cost of moving to other states for public schooling. All of this cost does not even account for the stress, loss of relationships, schooling, time and emotional pain and suffering these children and families were impacted by that monetary compensation cannot replace.
Policy makers, pharmaceutical agencies and public health officials who misled and mismanaged this which led to lives being greatly disrupted should be held accountable. Families who were impacted should be directly financially compensated based on an evaluation of their financial costs that is verifiable and directly related to the COVID pandemic.
