Commercial landlord raised rent 145% because she could after 1st five year lease ran out. There are so many fees, regulations, licenses and taxes we have to pay as a small business and there is currently ZERO protection for small businesses when it comes to rent control. The current lease is for a three year period and will renew at “market value” when the current term expires. Small businesses need protection to help us survive!! Also the current electric bill shows our current bill as $829.35 of that $322.27 is electric generation, $405.01 is electric delivery, and $102.07 is taxes and other.
