Right now millionaires and other countries are buying up all our land. Poor and Middle Class citizens have far less opportunities to own land than China does and that’s just not right. Citizens cannot necessarily buy land anymore. It has become expensive and the loans for land often are not available or have outrageous interest rates… even for those with good credit. A wealthy person or investor has the freedom and ability to pay for land in cash… why can’t the middle class or even the poor have the opportunity to buy acreage? The cities are overwhelmed with crime and craziness. Why must the poor and middle class live like that if they don’t wish to? People have become trapped in these places with little options to move due to their financial stress. We need a loan program (better than 502) that allows no down or minimal down for anyone making 100k or less. It should not be limited to land that few others want (like 502 does). And included in the law it should state that people have priority over investors. We also need to ensure that if we have a law like this that realtors and mass land owners do not take advantage and raise their property prices to take advantage of the new law. Also we should not be double taxed on land. Once land is paid off, it should no longer be taxed.
