As you know, many chiefs of police, in cities across US are appointed by city mayors and/or city councils and other entities.

Since the chiefs of police are entrusted by us all to not take a knee to the mob, as we have seen during the “mostly peaceful” protests, then, they should all be elected by the people for terms not exceeding 4(four) years. Chiefs across US have turned a blind eye to crime in order to appease those who appointed them.

Special elections every four (4) years to appoint chiefs of police. No more backdoor deals and promises to special interests.

Reverence for the law and fair application of the law to all.

YES finally some else that picked this up. Small town chiefs and big city commissioners should be electiable by the people of that community. I also think town/city police departments should be considered a promissory agency of your county sheriff.
