I would like to see a change in our allowance of date coding on all consumer products in both food and tobacco. Working in retail we have serveral products in the kosher foods, hispanic foods, and smokeless tobacco areas that are all dated with various formats of dating coding. Including Julian format, and formats created by the manufacturer. Consumers and merchandisers have a right to know if a product they are purchasing or selling is out of date without deciphering a code or contacting the manufacturer.
