I absolutely approve, seeing as this is right in line with my own larger proposal for massive rollbacks on car regulations in general.

Nobody or institution has the right to “remote control” your private property. This isn’t rocket science. Car owners should have the right to have wireless communications packages NOT installed in future vehicles. The package should be OPTIONAL. It should NOT be manditory for all vehicles. This is what is called a “government-forced monopoly” which contradicts other government law about having monopolies. Not everyone wants or needs to have control of their vehicle when they are nowhere around their vehicle…even down to remote door locks, security enabling/disabling, etc. And finally, the car companies should provide standard “non-smart, non-communicating” door/ignition keys to car owners who prefer to have their keys cut the old fashioned way, instead of having to fork out $500 to a dealership to have a new chipped key sent to you. This has gotten way out of hand and is simply done to make more money and establish more control. These car companies slap a layer of electronics over every aspect of the vehicle in order to have that feature open to future remote control or monitoring. Same with home appliances…electronic breadboards are placed in EVERYTHING these days, preparing it for IOT. Pretty soon, even your rocking chair will have a circuitboard embedded in it, counting every time it was used and how many rocks per session. Its getting really old, really quick! Companies should be mandeted to produce BOTH versions of a product: an Internet-Of-Things version, and a (cheaper costing) Patriotic Privacy version. If they cant provide both, they should provide neither. They are trying to FORCE the market a certain direction (while having us pay for it) and that is not acceptable to those of us who DONT want to go their ‘Big Brother’ “smart products” direction, but still wish to enjoy such “dumbed-down” products.

Side note: When I run off a bridge and submerge my vehicle, I dont want to be feeling for a shorted out underwater electronic switch to roll down my window and swim out – I want to be feeling for a hand crank.

I agree this impeds on our constitutional rights.

This should absolutely be broadened into home appliances, utility meters, thermostats etc. There has to be something saying we have the rights to things we purchase and pay for. No company, utility, corporation should have a right to turn on or off what we own. Look into shabbat mode. All the new smart appliances are programmed to shut off remotely if the "government " has their way and tries to use the whole “climate issue” as an excuse . Remember a few years back when they took control of Colorado and anyone who had smart thermostats? All that has happened in the last 4 years needs to be addressed.

Done, per your request. Thx!

Excellent. You should make this a petition all by itself.

The Vehicle Kill Switch Mandate infringes on the Right to Confront One’s Accuser, enabling a driver to be impeded without any chance to defend against what constitutes an accusation of Impaired Driving. Vehicle software cannot be cross-examined, and certainly not before it would disable the vehicle. I suspect there will be one or more lawsuits if and when they try to enforce this, and this could well end up before the Supreme Court.

Tell that to electronic manufacturers.

I AGREE!!!

Whatever #$%^&*() suggested a KILL SWITCH on a car is brain dead.

The government really needs to go through EVERY law and remove such garbage!

I could just SEE them doing this to a car on the freeway and causing a lot of deaths, etc…
