Capping Medicare and Medicaid Spending, and Reducing Payments for Drugs

Americans are well aware of our debt situation, I think that while it is important that the Trump administration focuses on helping the American people and getting our country back on track; we need to also significantly cut costs and reduce our debt. Capping medicare spending and reducing payments for drugs is one expense that could, and should, be cut. Although this impacts Medicare beneficiaries, especially those relying on costly prescription drugs, we need to consider the benefits of doing this. To manage rising healthcare costs, capping Medicare spending and reducing drug payments addresses waste and excessive pricing. This approach focuses on curbing costs rather than cutting coverage directly, making it a less harmful choice compared to eliminating Medicare benefits outright. I also think that capping the amount of money given to the states for Medicare and Medicaid costs would be a huge help in cutting costs, because honestly, the states are given way too much money for this and it could be used elsewhere, or saved for an end-of-year surplus and the federal government can use it for what the American people need, want, or if an emergency happens.
