There are already a lot of policy ideas on the platform, which is awesome! In order for the community to be open to new policies, we definitely need a way to get rid of duplicates or join discussions under one umbrella.
We already have the ability to Merge Proposals, which is great for merging policies that are effectively the same. But, what we’re starting to see is a lot of detailed policies with different approaches to solving the same problem. I don’t think you can simply merge these, because they all have different ideas on how to fix the problem.
I would suggest some way to create a “Strategy”, effectively a post that would become an umbrella for all of the different policy proposals that are aiming to solve the same problem. This way, discussion about the problem can happen all in one place, and different proposals don’t get lost behind the most popular one.
Additionally, I think it would be good for policies within a strategy to all be bundled together or hidden from the main “policies” view. That way, users have to go to the overall strategy first.
Otherwise, we’re going to end up with 100s of solutions and splinter the community.
(Maybe this is what the “Collections” feature aims to do?)
