Let’s get tough on crime and build many more government owned jails that hold people accountable. Steal a car? 5 years in jail. This will require more policing and in major cities with big problems bring in the national guard. I would build super prison complexes able to hold 50-100x more prisoners than a conventional jail. At least one super prison per state and help fix our crime and theft epidemic across America.
After walking around in cities like Seattle and Los Angeles I have no pity for the crazy people destroying these beautiful cities.
I agree regarding these criminals who do these things, i know many who have done some things and no charges have been filed yet. It does not make sense to me!
But I think you may not be aware of the many innocent in prison. These people have been falsely accused and wrongfully convicted of crimes they did not do. While we see so many people doing crimes and not even being charged. I believe we must first help those in prison with no voice, and that will make room for the people guilty of their crimes.
Agree with that for sure. The whole system needs reform. Not having room for criminals is not an excuse I care to hear much about though. Don’t release criminals back into the public where tax paying Americans are threatened of their rights.
There are thousands if not 100 of thousands inmates who were falsely accused and wrongfully convicted by a corrupt court system. A system that cares more about the money to be made rather than the person facing an extreme injustice. What i have learned is that no one cares, no one believes… Until it happens to them.
I have also learned that when a guilty person is accused of a crime, the police have a more difficult time of arresting them, although they have mounds of evidence. Look at the big stories today… It does not make sense.
“In the United States, around 67.8 percent of criminals were arrested again within 3 years of release. The research involved 404,638 convicts in 30 states. Around 76.6 percent of the prisoners were rearrested within 5 years of release, and approximately 56.7 got arrested again within 1 year of being released.”.
Seemingly, via these stats, criminals have a high rate of repeat illegal behavior as the years progress. Maybe instead of having sentences for just the crime, possibly having a “prisoner reform” attached as well. During their time in prison, people can monitor the activity, behaviors, and other elements that can be evaluated to determine the level of reform that individual has bloomed into - if any. Various unaffiliated and unbiased evaluations can be happening before release to determine if the offender is truly ready for release or if that individual has a high probability to go back out and commit crimes; possibly leading to continued incarceration. Some people may just want to lead a life of crime - should that allow them to remain being released to harm the country more? (rhetorical)
If released, there could be a 5-year watch program that helps the prisoners back into life outside of jail. Helping guide them into employment, housing, and the like to try to help reduce the potential of more crime.
