At present, the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) imposes meal pattern regulations that prohibit schools from offering whole milk as a reimbursable meal component. This policy lacks scientific and nutritional rationale, as whole milk is a nutrient-dense source of vitamin D and other essential nutrients that are crucial for children’s development. We must advocate for a reform of this policy and address the issue of processed foods labeled as “CN” that are laden with harmful additives.
