I believe schools should give the choice to parents and students, and having these choices will empower students to make career choices and prepare them for their roles as men and women. For example, we have shortages in hvac, plumbing and other industries we need to bring that to school curriculums summer school or electives. We need farmers we have lost and forgotten the skills, let the schools have that to increase the workforce and also to pass on the precious knowledge to individuals who want to learn or have it there available to learn when shortages come and we need people. This will create jobs in and stuff made in the USA, and schools can make profits by creating events and festivals that will fund them and will create other incentives. Imagine creating this independence to kids in rich and poor neighborhoods, it will create and satisfy positions in the workforce and lift the supply and demand up to date. Bring blue white collar jobs and financial literacy.

I agree 100% and would add teaching basic life skills needed to maintain a household. Like money management, basic homemaking skills, neighborhood watch type skills (which would also encourage a more caring environment), self-care skills (exercise, diet, mental and spiritual health…). ] So many things I see missing in the younger generations ‘at large’; these kids are smart, they deserve a better chance at success.
