The giving birth process seems to be rushed by more and more Drs. If you are not on their timeline, they push to move the process forward faster which is resulting in increased complications for both mother and baby and increased rates of C-Sections.
Drs are no longer educated and speciality trained in delivering breech babies therefore increased c-sections. They’re not trained in flipping babies that are breech in the womb which is also resulting in more c-sections.
Women as a whole are being ignored by Drs and being misdiagnosed with miscarriages or as symptoms of “normal” pregnancy. Tests should be required to rule out anything that could be potentially dangerous throughout pregnancy. Not just have a 5 minute appointment. Baby sounds good. See you in a month.
When it comes to hospital care when you go to deliver via induction or go into labor naturally. Before the baby is born- patient advocates should come and inform mother that she does have rights to how she labors so the staff cannot force their opinions on a woman in pain without all the facts. After baby is born. Hospitals should not try and discharge a mother 24 hours later. I do believe there should be a law stating that insurance will pay for 72 or more full hours after delivery of baby to recover in hospital and make sure there are no complications. And more than 5 days in the event of a C-Section Earlier you get discharged- higher chance something can be missed and then you’re back in the ER with a doctor who barely knows anything about fresh post partum. In the USA we have a high rate of mortality in mothers. It should not be this way and I vote to fix the care received during pregnancy, labor and post partum.
