Banning those who make partisan political contributions from being judges

BANNING THOSE WHO MAKE PARTISAN POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BEING JUDGES.

Most judges at all levels are appointed to lifetime positions by politicians. In most cases, the persons appointed or selected to be a judge has made substantial political contributions to the politicians who appointed them. Effectively, they are buying that position. This creates a politically biased judge who is incapable of giving an unbiased judgement.

I propose that anyone who has made a partisan political contribution within the last ten years be ineligible for appointment or selection to be a judge.

This will greatly reduce the partisanship of our judiciary system and help eliminate biased decisions.

Thank you

Decent proposal. There is inherent bias in the political appointment process as well. There are numerous conflict of interest conflicts in the judicial. How can people get fair trials and fair representation when the judicial profits from incarceration or various rulings on matters which they may have personal investments involving? Judicial should have a right to invest just like anyone else, but due to their unique placement in positions of power, perhaps it would be a better idea to require them to use third party investment firms, specifically limited to funds and firm managers whom pass rigid stringent tests of not investing in a biased or political manner.

Take it a step further; Let the people vote for every single judge everywhere. Higher positions may get longer terms, but should not bypass legitimate representative democracy where the people get a vote.
