It was banned by NY to sell Guinea Pigs from anywhere but reputable breeders. They are constantly sold individually when they are heard animals, they are promoted to be easy care and given to children, with store “approved” cages that are appallingly small. There is not enough regulation for many animals sold in pet stores. They do not properly educate buyers which leads to neglect and constant abuse. As humans we need to make sure we care properly for animals who cannot communicate, who rely completely on our care, and humane regulations.
