Ban SMART meters due to their ability to fail after a surge and cause fires

There have been a lot of concerns about the ability of SMART meters to fail after a power surge and cause fires, if that is proven they should be banned and deemed a SAFETY hazard. CA fires?

My power company went around putting Smart Meters on everyone’s houses without asking or letting people know what this is. This sent me into a deep rabbit hole of research. Specifically, on this topic, here is a good article by an enviro group:
Wireless Smart Meters and Potential for Electrical Fires

Also, the main website - smartmeterharm has tons of research.

Some of these meters contain lithium batteries - another fire hazard. If they catch fire, it can’t be out with water. In the Pacific Palisades, CA fire, the fire dept. had to let some EVs (they have lithium batteries) just burn out for lack of extinguishing chemicals. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to ask our fire depts. if they are educated about this. Smart Meter batteries are very small but, still, they would smoulder. There are Smart Meters without these batteries that our power company says they are using.
