The mass salting of our roads and cities and towns in the the North is ruining our Wells and making our water undrinkable. Roadsalt has made countless cities require the use of filters to be able to drink their own water. And it also heavily rusts the bottom of vehicles increasing the amount of body work needed to keep cars on the road and safe. We have demonstrated the ability to use other alternatives of road salt like sand which better for the environment and better for cars and public health. And new studies are coming out how pickle Brine is also working as an alternative as well. And smith collage has used the secondary component for making beer out of brewery. Which is a molasses like substance that can be used to treat roads when they are slippery in the winter to great effects for mild winters

The state of Massachusetts who is in charge of salting our road will pay for well testing for everything except road salt. And they won’t do anything about it, i love the idea of banning red dye 40 and so on but giveing us drinkable water should be a priority. We live in America the richest country on earth and our towns and citys require a water filter because of to much road salt.
Could not agree more, not only are alternatives safer for our environment but usually they are much more effective as deicing agents. There are alternatives made from producing alcohol that lower the melting point of ice and coat the road surface more thoroughly!
