Ban Plastic Bottles

Ban single use plastic bottles and only allow for glass or aluminum beverage containers.

Both glass and aluminum can be recycled and done in the U.S., thereby creating jobs. Reducing environmental impact of plastic and reducing microplastics for everyday people.

This policy would bolster environmental works to reduce waste and harmful affects of plastics leeching. It would create new U.S. jobs in recycling. As it would be too expensive to ship recycling over seas. Both glass and aluminum can recycled indefinitely.

@TheodoreJames,

I support the goal of banning single-use plastic bottles and moving towards glass or aluminum, as both materials can be recycled indefinitely, reducing waste and environmental harm. A way to improve this idea would be to include incentives for businesses to adopt glass or aluminum packaging through tax credits or grants for recycling infrastructure. This would not only encourage quicker adoption but also make the transition more affordable for smaller companies, ensuring a smoother shift toward more sustainable packaging solutions.

I am alarmed at the amount of microplastics in our bodies. I am aggravated by the lack of alternatives to bottled water in plastic containers. We need glass preferably and even aluminum without the plastic lining would be better.

Why is everything packaged in plastic?
Peanut butter, mayonnaise and pickles always came in glass jars.

Pop came in returnable bottles.

Why don’t we actually act like we are in crisis. Stop plastic products forever. Recycle glass in entirety where possible and reuse the rest. This is so simple when you have like minded constituents and processing facilities that make sense. Keep the beggars out of my garbage.
