Ban LED lights (or at least give people a choice)

Engineering student here:

It is true that some LEDs flicker, but it’s not all of them. Cheap LEDs with cheap/low power drivers (power source transformers) are generally the cause of flickering, but higher quality LEDs can be constant sources of light rather than flickering sources of light, also they keep energy costs and requirements down which make it easier for our bills each month. I love an incandescent bulb but to ban or limit LEDs like that would be something that a company should look into rather than the government. Also, you can achieve more of the light spectrum with LEDs than incandescent which is great for grow lights and things like that. Obviously lights aren’t a replacement for sunlight, but they have their place in our modern world.

Then back to my point we go. Allow only yellow or Amber led headlights on vehicles older since those colors scientifically can’t harm the eyes.

I agree it’s a fact that LEDs are harmful, and I think the public should be made aware and educated on the harmful effects of them. They need to bring back incandescent light bulbs and then people can decide if they want to pay less for less electricity or pay more for their health. FREE MARKET is important, but education is the key to good health.

The most blinding light I experience are straight from the factory vehicles especially Chevy and ford pickups . Also with new semis. Many times I have had to stop in the middle of the road because I could not see. My husband and brother almost got into serious accidents from those newer pickups.

The government should NEVER have stepped in and mandated the removal of them from the marketplace in the first place. It is NEVER govt’s job to manage a free market economy like ours – hence, that is why it is called a “FREE market economy”. These things only happen in third-world backwater countries where the local dictator’s cousin is the only maker of product X in the village and doesnt want product Y fairly competing with it at a lower price. And don’t gimmie that “Green Energy” over-played Nazi-esque garbage, since it was merely invented for government control of The People (under the guise of saving us from ourselves) :us_outlying_islands:

An eye doc. no doubt? Prev. I might add… You must not drive at night EVER, and in bed before the sun hits the horizon.

Wrong on all three counts

Please elaborate your response for the American People, instead of replying with five quick words that have about as much meaning and depth as a sudden and abrupt form of public wind-breaking. Thanks.

You all need to start SUN GAZING. that’s the issue.

Right. We don’t need to “ban” anything but bring back incandescent bulbs, let us choose.

I agree that we should have a choice on this.

Unfortunately, if we banned everything that everyone had some sort of uncommon ‘disability’ associated with it, then society would revert back to living in caves and chasing our food with spears. It is probably better to attempt treatment for those few who have disabilities related to a product or service, rather than banning products and services from general public consumption. This keeps us moving forward as a society, and not backward, right? For example, I am not a smoker and dont like being around it, so I take the effort of removing myself from the area…but I would never think of considering the unAmerican and selfish act of pushing for a ban on cigarettes and cigars. Its just not like us (Americans) to behave so ‘Nazi-esque-like’, if you know what I mean.

I agree. The LED lights were making me go blind. I had to get blue blocker glasses and take copious amounts of anti-oxidants. I can’t even find incandescent bulbs for heating my birds unless I go to the black market. We really need to legalize incandescent bulbs again.

LED lights in the home are bad for our health (Steven Magee, Toxic Electricity, 2013),

I would be fine with LED lights being banned on vehicles, but at the interest of cost, it would probably be a better idea to replace the harsh cool white color of interior led lights with a warm white color, as it is easier on the eyes while remaining cost effective.
