Ban harmful food dyes and glyphosate in agriculture

Ban FD&C dyes and artificial color.

They are linked to

Behavioral problems
Some studies have found a link between food dyes and aggression, irritability, and other behavioral problems.

ADHD-like symptoms
The symptoms of synthetic food dye exposure can overlap with ADHD-type symptoms.

Ban Glyphosate, the active ingredient in weed killers like Roundup, can have a number of health risks, including:

Skin and eye irritation
Glyphosate can be very irritating to the skin and eyes.

Respiratory issues
People who use glyphosate products may experience nose irritation or asthma.

Developmental effects
In animals, large amounts of glyphosate during pregnancy can cause developmental issues like lower body weight and problems with bone and organ growth.

Liver inflammation
A UC Berkeley study found that childhood exposure to glyphosate can lead to liver inflammation and metabolic disorders in early adulthood.

Cancer
Some studies have linked glyphosate to an increased risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).

Autism spectrum disorder
Exposure to glyphosate before birth or in infancy may increase the risk of autism spectrum disorder.

@Cishasmith,

I agree that banning harmful food dyes is a smart move for public health, but banning glyphosate in agriculture would be counterproductive. Instead, a more effective solution would be banning its use in residential areas, where it’s often overused or misapplied. In agriculture, glyphosate is crucial for efficient weed control and maintaining crop yields, especially when used properly. Regulating its residential use would reduce environmental exposure while still allowing farmers to produce enough food without skyrocketing production costs. This would strike a balance between safety and practicality.
