Ban Assault weapons and limit ammo on Handguns, hunting rifles, shotguns

I see no reason for the average civilian to own AK-47’s and AR-15’s and M16’s or M60’s they kill our children in schools and I believe we shouldn’t have them but we should keep guns like handguns hunting rifles and shotguns but limit the calibers and limit the amount of ammo to 10 rounds to help with the issue of mass shootings across America.
And make it so people have to get a mental health evaluation and criminal background check before purchasing a firearm

The 2nd amendment is in place to protect our 1st amendment! NO BAN ON GUNS. Harden schools, hospitals etc by getting rid of gun free zones. If someone is inclined to shoot up a school they are much less likely to do so if they know they could be shot themselves.

Believe it or not, there are several countries that have wanted to raid the USA and have not because they are afraid of the citizens that own guns. You can find this information in history. Or go to the United Nations website. The info is out there. Research. The 2nd amendment does not authorize anyone limitations on what we can own. AS much as one would not like it or see a reason to or not “limit”, Thank God for the 2nd amendment! The founding fathers saw that it was so important that they made it the 2nd one on the Bill Of Rights.

While this post may upset you, or you may feel as though i cam condescending towards you, it is not my intent.

I am sure King George was disappointed that so many of the rich colonists had cannons, arms, and whatever else AFTER THE FACT. A semi-automatic “ar 15” or a semi-automatic ak 47 sound scary, they are no more deadly than anything else. An ar 15 is a 5,56 mm/.223 rifle, its not extra destructive it is not extra accurate, and the amount of bullets do not make any bit of difference. Let’s use Chicago as an example, one of the strictest gun lawed areas of the country, but for whatever reason it has one of the most gun related death rates in the country. Gun laws and limited magazine sizing etc doesnt change anything.

The “mass” shootings depending on how the shooting is classified could be a guy in a school parking lot who shoots himself. The ones that make the news on the otherhand are few and far between and get hyped. That is a mental health issue, not a gun issue. Daryl Brooks in MN killed and hurt ALL KINDS of people driving his suv through a parade. If someone is bent on doing harm on a mass scale they will figure it out. Charles Whitman (UT SHOOTER in the 60s) did not have an AR and was just a hunting rifle and hurt a bunch of people.

I am more inclined to arm the people in a fashion that its required to have training at schools, and to have a weapon at your home. Education with firearms (or lack there of) is a larger problem than anything else. If everyone were educated on how to operate, how to store safely, and were comfortable with firearms, we would be a lot more secure nation as apposed to the meme of only Bubba mouth breathing rednecks have “too many guns”.

I think the limit (if there were any) would be you cant have home nukes, i think there should be availability to anything and everything, just as the founding fathers intended and stood up with the best of the era. A firearm is nothing more than a tool, use the right tool for the job.

Nope. Not sure why people have such a hard time figuring out what the words “shall not be infringed” mean. There is no such thing as and “assault weapon”. It is a made up term meant to scare people.
