Ban Artificial Food Dyes (Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Red 40)

Agreed. Please add high fructose corn syrup to the list, too. And, it shouldn’t cost more to make food healthy!

Responding in regards to false advertising of healthy products not being healthy whatsoever… V8 Splash Juice for example has the following:

Additives/Toxins:

  • Sucralose (Links to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, inflammation in the digestive tract, and other metabolic disorders).
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup (Insulin resistance, obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure)
  • Natural Flavors (Basically anything goes, and companies dont have to disclose everything that makes up this chemical additive or where it comes from)
  • Red 40 (Hyperactivity, including ADHD, behavioral changes like irritability and depression, allergic reactions, hives and asthma, sneezing, watery eyes, skin irritation, migraines.) Red dye 40 also contains benzene, a known cancer-causing substance.

Marketing regulations for all unnatural, synthetic, or related needs to be reevaluated. Stop allowing these companies to market products as healthy, even from going lengths to make their food appear healthy with color/appearance additives. V8 is not food, and by the time you remove all the unhealthy aspects, the food itself has little to no nutritional value (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, ect.) and yet we also wonder why our people suffer from massive deficiencies (aside from everyhting else).

I used the example of V8 Juice because I am an avid home juicer (in an effort to try and get my nutrients straight from the source). Through my research, I have learned that many juices lose their nutritional value the longer they are on the shelf. Shelf stable juices in stores have essentially turned into sugar water. Fresh juices from cafés or restaurants (that have been prepped to go) start to have their juices lose nutritional value after about 24 to 72 hours.

Better education is needed so our nation’s people can make the best choices for themselves, and not be led to believe curtain juices are healty and meeting their daily quota for fruits/veggies per the blasphemous food chart we have (which was changed completely from it’s first creation to meet the food industry’s requests, not focus on people’s health).

The food we eat largely belongs to a monopoly created to serve the role of putting more money in their pockets. Unfortunately our health has never been a priority to them over money, which is why 4 food companies own 80% (or more) of all food and food-related companies in the USA… not to mention all foreign food sold here is NOT required to meet certain regulations either.

Of you ban food dye you have to bring the prices down on vegan food

Someone has to stop the food industry from poisoning people especially poisoning our children

Add Vani Hari to Kennedy’s team.

The thing that really ticks me off is that US companies are selling the same products to European consumers WITHOUT these dyes. So they go out of their way to provide the European consumers what they demand, but pay no attention to the US consumers’ health.

I would love to see all Artificial food dyes ban in the US not just certain ones!

Also need to ban the use of petroleum products in foods and personal use products (skin care, make up, shampoos, soaps.)

Definitely agree with this!

Yes, us. We take responsibility, and stop feeding our children the garbage. Kellog’s doesn’t force me to feed my kids there cereal. I buy it, therefore, I am asking Kellog’s to keep up the good work, and they do. Create a shelf stable cereal, pill, etc that replaces without the ingredients, and sell it. God bless the free market!

Many of the health issues Americans suffer from are due to the additives and toxins in our food as well as altering the original foods, namely our wheat resulting in “gluten intolerance” and sensitivity. It’s really GMO intolerance. I want to see our food and water sources purified, our soil replenished.

While I am all for a smaller federal government, I also believe that every American deserves clean food and water. Since food producers distribute across state lines, it makes more sense to have a federal mandate on this issue- and just get all the chemicals and GMOs out across the board.

I have given to EWG, and they are doing fantastic work! Our government needs to now take action to ban all of the toxic substances that these organizations have been researching for years. This ban needs to include all toxic chemicals in food, water, medications, topical products, soaps, etc ; as well as the containers they come in, and any container made to hold food or beverages- for both humans AND animals. All GMOs banned. We should at the very least have the same standards as the EU!

All chemicals from any food that is sold in the US should be banned just like they are in every single country in the world.

Revisit the Delaney Clause. The excuse of “if the product only causes cancer in high concentrations”, a “need” for artificial flavoring, etc. is null for multiple reasons including, but not limited to:

  1. There should have never been the term “acceptable risk” if a consumer doesn’t have a choice.
  2. A healthier lifestyle should not equal higher prices that are out of the reach of so many people.
  3. Our health should have never been for sale.
