While it is necessary & inevitable to exponentially accelerate AI/ML development, it’s important for a federal committee to ensure that transparency is communicated to American citizens. This is not meant to hold enforcement capacity, but to appoint industry leading experts & decentralized innovation groups to review the AI landscape and consolidate literature for the American people to understand AI’s incentives, implementations, & influences. Not to mention, maintaining a cybersecurity standard, especially considering the arrival of ‘deepfake’ videos or audio calls (scams). It should be NON-partisan and objective, with industry-determined standards for the literature and easy, free access to the information & conclusions. It should keep in mind the need for the landscape to not impede on citizens’ sovereignty and not allow AI/ML to become a tool primarily used for partisan manipulation or propaganda.
