STOP all cash payments overseas. If Ethiopia needs bread, ask how many loaves, then contract to provide U.S. Wheat to U.S. mills to grind it into flour, to give it to U.S. Bakers to bake the bread, use U.S. Trucks to send it to a port, and finally U.S. steamship carriers to transport it. I’m sure this would cause some congressional resistance as it would eliminate their government paid fact finding missions to the countries that they’ve provided assistance to, resulting in a loss of income when bringing suitcases of cash back on their diplomatic flight.
All military sales (other than to allies) should be U.S. government surplus, which would allow reinvestment of cash proceeds into new technology and new products resupplying our own National Defense.
Reinstate complete Buy American when it comes to U.S. Government purchases (i.e. USAF purchasing 20 Brazilian Super Tocano trainer jets) rather than U.S. built products.
DOGE can also eliminate all research grants for overseas enemies. There is no benefit for funding Chinese virology labs, or to see how fast shrimp can move on an underwater treadmill. This is also a HEALTH issue, as these untold billions of dollars could be sent to U.S. research facilities to cure cancer, and other diseases affecting Americans.
