All legislation sunsets in 10 years

Pass a constitutional amendment that limits the in-force length of legislation passed by Congress to no more than 10 years. In other words, all legislation must be re-passed every ten years to continue to be in force and on the books.

The point of the proposal is to force Congress to reexamine and keep relevant legislation regularly. This keeps Congress busy reexamining what they’ve done and making that better instead of always looking for some new trouble to get into.

The default should be that with no action taken, existing legislation dies off.
