It seems so odd to me that health insurance for most Americans is dependent on their employer. This discourages more people from starting their own business since they will lose their health insurance. I am a small business owner and I currently rely on the Affordable Care Act and open market for my health insurance, but it is still way more expensive than if I got a regular job and received my health insurance from an employer.
I wonder if creating a single payer system or something like it for small business owners to encourage more entrepreneurship and more American innovation. People should not be scared to start their own business because they will lose their health insurance.
