Affordable food for everyone

Since the beginning of the Covid pandemic, large food stores (i.e. Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, United, Price Cutter, etc.) have almost instantaneously doubled and tripled the cost of meat, pet food, toilet paper, etc. What used to cost $40 is now upwards of $100. I see no shortage of grocery items to warrant a huge increase in cost. Early on, a shortage of transport caused prices to come up but we’re not fighting with that now. Gas prices are not so high that it warrants raising the costs to these stores astronomically. Yet, we the people are having to rob Peter to pay Paul for food each week. Credit card debt is through the roof. There must be some way to force corporate greed out the door so we can all eat again.

Agree, I know most people do It’s a large problem. Raising the cost of fuel carriers will raise the cost they charge from shippers to consignee. In turn retail stores will raise the price to compensate. Same goes for farmers it cost more for equipment to gather then they raise the price. Pipe line gets suspended, people lost jobs fuel cost goes up. BTW Joe Biden you owe us gas money.
