Abolish Felonies

In the modern era, the concept of a “felony” accounts a range of offenses ranging from property crimes valued as little as $500 to the most brutal and depraved acts imaginable. It is unconscionable that petty crimes would carry loss of voting rights, right to bear arms, ability to work, and stigma that much more serious offenses would carry.

Every law will carry its own penalites, civil and criminal, and the term “felony” shall no longer remain a legal designation. Employers may continue to discriminate for any types of crimes they deem according to practical and moral considerations.

I know people that have a felony that did something non violent and when they were 20. Paid their fines, did probation but are still being punished with having a felony. Hard to get houses to rent, to vote, and a great job. This needs to be changed. They wanted to vote this year but were unable to. They were wanting to vote for President Trump.
