Since Jimmy Carter instituted the US Department of Education in 1979, literacy rates, functional understanding of math, knowledge of history, and every other benchmark for education success has plummeted in the United States. The creation of this department was blatantly unconstitutional from the start, and now the massive harm it has done to American children is undeniable. Utterly abolish the Department of Education.
