A policy for the neurodivergent

Most companies are afraid of hiring anyone that might be autistic, and I say that as someone on the receiving end, I feel like there should be a means of restructuring how companies go about hiring someone from the ground up as well as having people nationwide that just because our brains are wired differently doesn’t mean we are a bad fit for your company. As well as maybe a a nation wide standard that every city, county, and state throughout this great nation should be forced to use for the diagnostic tests instead of having multiple standards test. I mean it’s a pain to find out that you don’t meet the requirements for state assistance when you went to go tested and the doctor uses a different test than what the state requires and now they refuse to do anything about it so if you now know that you are autistic but because they used the wrong tests you have to wait two months to get tested by the state because you don’t have the insurance or the money to do it yourself.

Anyway point being there should be a means to one singular standard that is recognized nationally and all other standards should be thrown out the window . Create a national committee to create the standard and the test

I think this should remain at the market-place level and not be made as some sort of government policy or public regulation and monitoring effort. Businesses should be able to determine what resources they need (including human resources) in order to carry on with their business goals and objectives. If this became public policy, it would behave in much the way affirmative action would be pushed on business – that was a failure, and only succeeded in driving up product and service costs on the rest of America across the board. Your cause is just and well-intended, but the outcome is probably not what anyone would want, especially when an overbearing and inefficient government would cobble something like this into existence.
