Many houseless individuals avoid shelters due to safety concerns, as violence and threats are common, leaving them vulnerable on the streets, where infection risks also rise. To address these issues, I propose government funding for portable housing, specifically partnering with companies like Tiny Tiny Homes that create affordable, secure, and mobile living units. These units would provide safe, private spaces for individuals, reducing both public health risks and the demand on overcrowded shelters while offering a dignified and stable transition toward permanent housing.
