We do need to plan ahead for the upcoming effects of AI on our jobs. OTOH, I think that working towards a 32 hour work week would be a more fitting step. Going from 40 hours to 24 weeks seems like a big jump right now. And even the 32 hour week is controversial. Democrat legislators have proposed versions of the 32 hour work week, in Congress, and in California state, but it never made it past committees. We likely won’t have enough Democrat votes to pass a reduced hour work week.
I propose some alternate ideas here. These ideas are probably too liberal to pass, but who knows, maybe it’s alternative enough to gain some support. Anyway, here it is. Would you please view it?
