Hey Donald, I think I’ve got this covered in #4.
Let me know if you would add something to that.
I would like to add training for the unorganized militia
Upon the age of 18 , all citizens should report for BMT (basic military training) as part of Selective Service registration, and they should have to report back to keep up with modern training once every 10 years there after so long as they are eligible for selective service
Pursuant to
10 USC § 246. Militia: composition and classes
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
[NOTE: EVERYONE ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTIVE SERVICE]
All citizens eligible for selective service should have a DD214 on file.
Enlist and Serve if you want after that, but it is our duty as Americans to know how to be a “Well Regulated Militia” (effective fighting force)
- To muster
- To drill
- To March
- To throw a grenade
- To put 3 in the black at 100 yards
- Weapon safety/maintenance
- Unit movement , maps & land navigation
- And if we’re being historically traditional, how to drink with the best of’em (yes there was beer just to get people to show up. After-hours not on the range.)
There should be no “unorganized” militia, the duty of congress is to “organize” the militia of the several states so they cannot constitutionally go against what they were explicitly instructed to do. that said I obviously agree the people need to be trained.
The unorganized militia is simply everyone eligible for the draft.
Not yet having been organized into garrison for lack of need, function, or funding.
We’ll forego the conversation(s) regarding the fact that there is to be no standing army. It has been determined to be the lesser of many evils at this time.
Show me in the constitution where congress is given the power to “unorganize” the militia. Also, show me where congress is given the power to not only unorganize any part of the militia but to create out of whole clothe other organizations to fulfill the duties of the militia. Militia are not what the constitution refers to as a “standing army” or “troops of war”.
Video for your consideration.
How would you write a concise piece about the militia to add on here?
