Universal/uniform Healthcare codes

I am not talking about socialized healthcare… I am referring to universal codes nationwide for coverage. We need to create a competitive insurance market. Currently, you can only purchase from your state of residency or your employer’s corporate office.
With the uniform codes, price standards need to be created. Anyone with recent hospital visits can attest to astronomical prices for even administering over-the-counter medication. Important life-saving medications are still expensive while medications for drug abuse are nearly free. Many ‘natural’ alternatives to chemical medications are mostly uncovered by insurance. This includes doctor offices that focus on natural care and use natural remedies such as oils, supplements, etc. before writing a prescription.
Even with insurance, using it is nearly unaffordable at times. Under Obamacare, deductibles and maximum yearly out-of-pocket expenses have increased by around 51% since 2013 when the ACA max was $12,500. (having difficulty finding family maximums before 2013)
As of right now, and ACA Marketplace place plan allows a maximum out-of-pocket of $18,900 per family. That is more than enough to bankrupt most low to mid-income families that are unable to qualify for state Medicaid assistance.

Yes, and we also need to simplify the health insurance forms that doctors have to fill out. Every company seems to have their own form. Let’s standardize that form which will reduce costs for everyone.

I’m tired of having to go back and forth between the doctor’s office and insurance to ensure things get paid and covered.
I have had 2 instances now where I have received a notice of denial from insurance regarding labwork. – the issue… Doctor office used the wrong ‘code’.
