Tort reform solves a lot of problems

Excessive and frivilous litigation is a vice at best and a sin at worst. If the US legal system was similar to the rest of the world in that the loser in a lawsuit is responsible to pay the winners legal fees many problems would be remedied, including:

 1. There would simply be fewer lawsuits because of
       the cost of losing.
  2. The cost to the justice system would decrease.
  3. Malpractice insurance would decrease and
doctors could afford to operate private practices,
thus increasing competition and reducing costs.
   4. Insurance costs would decrease.
   5. Society would become kinder and more gentle.
   6. Etc.

To that end, the proposal is simple:

    1. Reform the legal sytem such that if you sue
someone and you lose you are responsible to pay
their legal costs. Likewise if you are sued and win
the loser pays your legal fees.

Hi Chris, if the person suing wins the case, does the defendant then have to pay the winner’s costs?

Hi Michael. Yes the loser in any suit pays both sides’ legal fees. This eliminates frivolous law suits entirely.
