The Big 3 (or is it 4 or 5) Credit Reporting Agencies

Something needs to be done about the Credit Reporting Agencies (Trans Union, Equifax, Experian, and a lesser known one - Innovis.

Trans Union is horrible - if you have a freeze on your acct it’s next to impossible to get it lifted when you’re at a business trying to get credit. Even when I’m at home on my PC (I don’t do financial stuff on my phone) I can’t get it lifted. Their system fails to send me a 2FA code to verify it’s me. Same with email. They keep having me create a new email (I’m up to 5 now) and I STILL don’t get any way to receive their code.

They’ve finally escalated my call to their IT Dept, but I’ve waited over 2 weeks for a call back. I’m done.

And why are all of them outsourced to other countries? What a way to get your identity stolen.

Agreed! My husband owns his own biz and it’s ridiculous. We didn’t do the DUNS thing - we’re an 85 yr old business, but we did try to get a credit report from Equifax. They want big bucks for one! It’s insane why ANY BUSINESS charges businesses more then they do consumers. Even for online cloud storage, or virus protection, and other software companies - they all charge MORE for businesses.

Not to mention the confusion with some banks between personal and business accounts. We don’t have a business cell phone and don’t want one (we’re damn near ready to rid of our personal cell phones). They no longer acknowledge my personal cell phone as the point of contact for questions on business account statements. It’s insane.
