Student Loan Interest Rates

Don’t forgive student loans - lower the interest rates. I repaid my student loans a long time ago over a 15 year period - only way I could go was because of the loans. Very much appreciate this opportunity. However, my loan interest rates were only 1.9% and 2.9%. This meant my principal didn’t double or even triple while I paid back the loan.

Yeah, maybe tie them to the treasury note, maybe plus 1%, so you can’t say anyone is getting a free ride, and the government still profits, but it stays very low.

I have been trying to figure out why these loans are so high as if it’s not a plan to enslave borrowers. The interest rates are unreasonable and destroy many families when the whole idea should be to foster the development of society. Lower the rates and eliminate the cheating.

I think lower interest rates on student loans is the only way most people would be able to afford to pay them. Lower interest means a small er monthly payment. Especially for the parent plus loans!

Said the same thing in my post. They need to tackle this, year over year tuition increases, and extending college degree length with non-essential and redundant courses.
