Hello, my mother is 71 years old and has worked her entire life. She is still working and paying into Social Security. I’m wondering, why is that? Where is the money that is currently taken out of her paycheck for Social Security actually going? Why are people still paying into Social Security after the age of 62 if they are still working? Wouldn’t it make more sense to allow them to keep that money or allocate it to something like a life insurance policy for their children or grandchildren? This is actually an idea my mom had, and I think it raises an interesting point.
Thank you for taking the time to read this
