There also should be a federal page showing how each voted and anyone running for office that’s incumbent should have to show their record and be given the opportunity to explain why they voted for or against. It would help voters that choose to educate themselves a chance to do that.

Yes! Absolutely no pork in proposed bills
Proposal:
NO person shall be able to run for ANY government official position, local township, county, state, or federal, without FIRST passing a constitution knowledge exam, both written, and verbal. Verbal exam would be Q&A from a panel of experts in the understanding of the wording and framing of our constitution and all Amendments. The panel would be comprised of non biased, non partisan experts, (assuming that’s even possible). Panel would also be scrutinized by nonbiased experts on our constitution, meaning that they fully understand the scope of every Amendment, and WHY those amendments are added, without broadly worded speculation. Anyone scoring less than a 95%, is an automatic fail. Anyone currently in any of these positions, should also be forced to run that same gamut, and if they fail, be quickly dismissed, blacklisted, relieved of all duties, pensions, protections, etc., and replaced by competent & knowledgeable individuals.
Our country has suffered immensely at the hands of these installed and unelected individuals, taking money from the likes of Soros, Gates, and a plethora of NGO’s, to violate their oaths of office. “Abolish Citizens United” should be another topic of discussion on the table in this group, if it isn’t already.
Or as Pelosi says… “We have to pass it to know what’s in it”. THAT’S NOT how it works, and is blatant dereliction of duty!
#4 is IN the Constitution, they are just violating it over and over - especially no special interest groups or based on race or gender.
#5 excellent - should include must be noted (again in the Constitution re: notes in event of a veto) that all short term and long term ramifications need to debated.
Max pages, I think 20 is too long unless use case example of how bill will be applied to protect OUR Rights (I did with Care Freedom Act, see my posting). Also, should have noted short term & long term ramifications, notes - that is in Constitution! in case of veto. Regarding quorum, change since with internet meetings, why cannot they be present in event of unscheduled travel/emergency/sickness to still be available for debate, etc.? I love someone noted edits of who exactly wrote what when - just like word edits - a log file of who wrote what dated and timed. Excellent. Again, already in Constitution must be applied equally to ALL - Congress is violating Constitution giving themselves exemptions.
Love it all! Especially #11.
- Sunset Clauses for All Legislation:
-Every bill must include a sunset clause, setting an expiration date, unless explicitly renewed by a vote. This ensures that laws are periodically reviewed for relevance and effectiveness, with the opportunity for renewal based on performance and need.
I dont agree with this. Some of the laws that were passed centuries ago, may very well be what saves America today. I do believe laws need to be regularly reviewed for relevance, but they should not expire automatically.
- Public Accessibility:
All bills, once introduced, should be made easily accessible in their full form online for public viewing before any vote.
I think the members of the House of Representatives, should have to consult with those they represent before voting. We live in an era of social media. Why cant there be a .gov site, where you register with an ID, and you get put in the group chat of the district you belong. The people can then read the bill and vote. The member of the house then votes based on his constituents. This isnt a forced process, but this allows those who want a more active roll to have it. Put a time limit on the voting process, and however the poll ends up, is how the Representative votes.
We are in the position we are in today, because “We The People” have been complacent. It doesn’t matter which side you vote for, we still have a civic responsibility to keep our politicians in check and WORKING FOR US. This will stop dirty politicians from getting bought out. Because we will know how our reps are supposed to vote based on how we tell the Rep how to vote with our votes.
Yes
This is one of my favorite policy proposals. The amount of backdrop deals and shady laws would drop dramatically if we could get this in place.
I would give you the thumbs up on that one but it seems that I can’t do that so I just gave you the heart, but I think it needs to go further with requiring all of them be there for the vote no proxy voting, and no undecided voting
100.% agree
This is a must!
Also, bills need be numerically identified and thats all.
Giving a piece of legislation a cry-me-a-river title is disgustingly manipulative!
Could you add this to it
Policy Proposal: Enhancing Legislative Transparency and Public Participation
Objective: To establish a program that requires a schedule of bills to be voted on, all bills to be posted online for public review and input at least two weeks prior to the vote. This program will allow citizens to use their voter ID numbers to vote on the legislation and provide comments, ensuring that representatives and senators are aware of their constituents’ opinions.
Background: The legislative process often lacks transparency and sufficient public input, leading to a disconnect between elected officials and their constituents. By implementing a system that allows for public review and feedback on pending legislation, the government can enhance transparency, accountability, and democratic participation, basically they could open up whatever bill they were voting on and see how many of their constituents looked at that and Bill and voted up or down on it on the same line as the bill name.
Policy Proposal:
Online Legislative Portal:
Create a secure online portal where all scheduled legislation is posted at least two weeks prior to the scheduled vote.
Ensure the portal is accessible to all citizens and provides detailed information on each piece of legislation.
Public Voting and Comments:
Allow citizens to use their voter ID numbers to vote “yes” or “no” on each piece of legislation.
Enable citizens to submit comments and feedback on the legislation, which will be visible to their representatives and senators.
Single-Issue Legislation:
Require that all legislation be single-issue to prevent the inclusion of unrelated provisions and ensure clarity for voters.
Constituent Feedback to Representatives:
Automatically forward the voting results and comments from constituents to their respective representatives and senators.
Provide representatives and senators with a summary of their constituents’ opinions on each piece of legislation.
Transparency and Accountability:
Make the voting results and comments publicly available to ensure transparency and accountability.
Require representatives and senators to publicly respond to the feedback from their constituents.
Implementation and Security:
Develop robust security measures to protect the integrity of the voting process and ensure the privacy of citizens’ information.
Conduct regular audits and updates to the system to maintain its reliability and security.
Implementation Timeline:
Year 1: Develop and launch the online legislative portal, establish security measures, and begin public education campaigns.
Year 2: Implement the public voting and commenting system, ensure all legislation is posted online as required.
Year 3: Achieve full compliance with the policy, conduct evaluations, and make necessary adjustments.
Conclusion: By implementing this program, the United States can enhance legislative transparency, increase public participation, and ensure that elected officials are more responsive to the needs and opinions of their constituents. This policy will strengthen the democratic process and foster greater trust between the government and the public.
Government elected service should be an honor, . Low pay ( but comfortable living wage for a family) and come with privileges like a military job. Free commissary admission, low cost loans, college education for ypurself or kids, and discount perks the rest of ypur life, BUT NOT THE JOB FOR LIFE! Make it an honor to serve and a wonderful accomplishment to get a chance to serve your community!
If we could accomplish this think about how America could flourish
The excess spending is absurd
Ran Pauls Festivus for the past nine years, never mind all the funds going to other countries and not The American people is absurd
The omnibus bills have to stop
Each bill that requires funding must state how and where the funds will come from along with what happens when depleted
Also maybe only be able to vote on billa during normal working hrs. Not 1:00am without notice.
