Require All Health Insurance to be Non-Profits Only

30 years in healthcare. Anthem converting from non-profit to for-profit in California in the 90s has been a disaster. Absolute horror stories with United and many other for profit insurances. The incentive is not aligned. Please consider requiring health insurance to operate only as non-profits as the profit motive does not belong in admin of health insurance. For example the authorization process is simply a moving target to trick MDs into providing free care. The auth policies are driven by a profit motive.

I think this is a solution to some issues experienced with the Affordable Care Act. Both hospitals and insurance companies should be nonprofit. Healthcare being monitized and profitized has proven to cause a runaway expense burden on the American family and businesses. The mission of health becomes the driving factor in the healthcare system and decisions are made based on patient wellness over company valuation. This also decreases costs to the providers through tax incentives.
