Repeal The PATRIOT ACT

Just a few weeks after 9/11, I made myself a “Repeal Homeland Security” T-shirt (basically meaning Repeal The Patriot Act, but most people knew DHS already but not Patriot Act really). Walking around Fort Collins and Loveland, CO ALL DAY LONG, DELIBERATELY exposing my T-Shirt, got so many glares and horrid looks, you would think I was one of the ‘terrorists.’ Finally, at the end of the day, one little old lady (yeah, I said that) working in an antique shop in Loveland said, “I like your shirt.” When I told her that she was absolutely the only person who said anything about it all . . . day . . . long, she said, “We’re losing our Constitutional Rights.” I said, “IKNOW THAT!” It’s been going on a horribly long time. And I knew from the start. Did my part. Now, the 47th just needs to REPEAL THE PATRIOT ACT NOW!

Does anyone here want to go hunting with me?

Pieces of it could be reintroduced with single item bills. The problem if the all the stuff hidden in this massive bill.

In addition to repealing The Patriot Act, can we also discuss how we the people can overturn Citizens United?

The Patriot Act is anathema to the USA. It’s way past due for decommissioning it. GET RID OF THE PATRIOT ACT

Do we really need the P.Act to allow law enforcement agencies to talk to one another?

This very act made it very easy for them to mandate masks, shots, etc. It also allowed them keep family members away from their sick, sometimes dying, family member while in the hospital or long-term care facility. It has to go.

From what I’ve learned, the Patriot Act was written long before 9/11. The gov’t was waiting to take advantage of the right “crisis”, knowing a fearful populace is far easier to control.

The misuse and abuse of this law began almost immediately after passing…

Amen, we lost so many freedoms after 911. And by the way declassify what really happened to cause all of it.

Yes!!!

We KNOW the government can not be trusted with this type of power. Look at the Chinese in WWII! We need a consitutional guarantee, that no matter what, they can not create these types of law!! Period!

Bring home Edward Snowden and ask him to run the CIA.

Agree 100% and along with banning it, need to reveal the truth about 9/11 as well as all the other supposed terrorist attacks (i.e. Oklahoma, World Trade Center, no WMDs in Iraq, etc.) and revert our airports back to normal security measures that don’t invade citizen rights.

The Patriot Act was originally passed to protect the country from terrorists in the aftermath of 9/11. It was sold to the American people as a temporary safety measure to be used against foreign and domestic threats by granting government agencies authority for warrantless wire taps and other surveillance in violation of the 4th Ammendment. It has become clear that the DoJ can easily expand and redefine the “terrorists” to include concerned parents and those daring to question the government. This law has been exploited to provide cover for a lawless government and unelected bureaucrats in their efforts to circumvent the Constitutional rights of American citizens. Please repeal immediately.

I want it first removed, and then those parts that are strictly necessary be passed as brand new legislation.

Absolutely. This prima facie violation of the Constitution should never have become law in the fist place

Congress needs to outlaw warrantless surveillance stalking like FISA. There are too many rogue parts of the government, and they simply can’t be trusted especially after a government entity like FEMA became political and refused to provide emergency assistance to people in need due to their political views.

I agree with you! :100:

Completely agree. The Patriot Act is how bad actors introduced legal surveillance of American Citizens. It has been Weaponized against WTP.
