Perhaps Smith Mundt simply doesn’t go far enough. Monopolistic control of the media needs to be broken. Ownership of mass media platforms should be strictly controlled and decentralized. Of course that’s difficult when one group owns 88% of the world thanks to 110 years of compound interest in on the very creation of money, and massive profits from funding both sides of every war.
