Reforming Restrictions on Pain Management and Ending the Harmful Stigma Against Pain Patients

This is important to many people

As a pain management patient I cannot imagine not being given my medication. I have a failed 3 level laminectomy. I have undergone so many nerve obliterations, other injections to my back. Been told by Drs that if I did not get these injections they would not give me my pain medication. They are very painful with little to no result.
I understand that there is a war on fentanyl, and how this & pain management have been fused together is beyond my understanding. I receive my medication from a Doctor & go to a pharmacy to pick up my medication. If I was to loose my medication of 3 tablets of 3.75 I would loose the ability to preform daily tasks, showering, walking, cooking and caring for myself. .
Not all of us abuse our medication, we take them as prescribed.

This is very- well written and shows the immense harm that pain patients go through on a daily basis.
I have a history of pain and as of today must go to MAT centers to receive appropriate dosage of medication do that I can function in day to day life. When i fell recently and broke my shoulder i was SHUNNED at a local hospital saying take your MAT medications and then tske tylenol even though i was in SEVERE pain. By telling me this, I was flagged as a narcotic wanting patient…

For those of us who live with severe, unrelenting, chronic pain, there’s no place to run, no place to hide. To refuse us proper treatment is cruel beyond imagination, it’s a desperate situation to be in, a situation that anyone could find themselves in, for us, our medication is our lifeline keeping our heads just above a sea of indescribable misery.

I’m so here for this. Opioids are helpful to so many people, and other pain relief drugs just don’t compare. Chronic pain patients deserve to have their pain appropriately treated. I know myself, if I were given my old medicine of oxycodone, I would actually be able to work a job. As of now, I take pregabalin and it does not give me any pain relief, and I cannot work but it is all doctors will prescribe.

Over 2000 HCP have been persecuted by the rogue USDOJ/DEA 100% were from independent, solo, or small group practices and were predominantly over age 50, brown, black, or IMG

End this madness and repeal the CSA and end all drug prohibition Part of health freedom is not being denied the treatment that will help you as well as not being forced to use a treatment you choose to avoid Let’s work together to bring back freedom in healthcare!

Same here. I became anaphylactically allergic to all NSAIDs. Tylenol finally caused me to have a kidney infarction. Both are now off the table for me. I’ve been hospitalized for sepsis due to kidney dysfunction. I’m a retired surgical nurse harmed by forced IM procedures/injections, which caused CRPS. If I’d have been maintained on my stable w/o side effects gold standard opiate based pain medicine I could have avoided all that irreparable damage. I’m sorry for you, best wishes & God bless.

Absolutely on all of the above.

The federal government should have never been involved in our healthcare to begin with.

Also, Street drugs should have never been grouped with opioid overdoses. If you take those out, it will be proven that the number is less than 1% or lower from a legal obtained prescription.

We are so tired of suffering bc of bad choices from a very small amount people or the families of those people needing to blame something other than their family members.

We dont get rid of alcohol bc of drunk driving deaths. We dont get rid of insulin bc sometimes folks get their sugar too low causing death.

They already have. The reason they are so slippery and deceptive about it, is that this ties to the events of November 22nd, 1963 when RFK’s uncle, President JF Kennedy, was murdered.

Eisenhower left office with a firm popular bipartisan mandate, from a group called the Sound Dollar Committee. Democrat Bernard Baruch and Republican J Irving Weiss started a letter-writing campaign joined by millions of voters, asking Congress to balance the budget. In 1960 they achieved a balanced budget. The Government took in taxes, paid its WW II debts, used the rest to pay workers and perform projects, and borrowed NO additional money from the people.

JFK recognized a serious threat from the Soviet Union, who were building large nuclear missiles , that posed a threat. He began a new round of borrowing, got caught up on the missile front, then began working out how to pay the debt off. A month after he announced his plans to pay back the Cold War money he was murdered.

Immediately LBJ took office and took a different approach. LBJ secretly borrowed money from the Social Security Trust Fund and never paid it back, using the money for cost overruns on the Air Force B-70 bomber and various other spending. Barry Goldwater called him out on that, promising to shut down Social Security and return directly to the people, what we had paid in, minus what was stolen, so there would not be a repeat offense. LBJ campaigned on Goldwater being a warmonger. His ad budget for the 1964 campaign was huge, because corporations that were paid the stolen money, wanted more money. When they succeeded, it became a habit. Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Dubya Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden all drained money out of the Social Security and Medicare trust funds. No money was ever put back.

So the problem now is that the Government owes the people $110 trillion dollars for the Social Security and Medicare money it borrowed and spent, but there isn’t enough money in existence to pay that back. (For example, Earth has 3200 billionaires and most of them are not Americans. If they could all chip in $5 billion apiece, that would be just over $15 trillion. Meaning our benefits would have to be cut 110/15 = 86%. And that’s assuming that corporations and Government officials don’t steal some of the $15 trillion bailout fund).

What we hear on the news is the $35 trillion National Debt, borrowed from the bond market, that also has to be paid. We owe $10 trillion of that to China. All the Chinese-made goods on our store shelves had to be bought somehow and we paid China for them with bonds! China’s government is very concerned they will lose the $10 trillion because when Grandma cannot live on the 14% of her promised Medicare and Social Security money, voters may vote to default on the National Debt and try to use that $35 trillion to get her up to 40% of what our government promised to pay her when it taxed away her earnings, paycheck by paycheck. The Biden Administration tried to raise interest rates (which causes inflation) and labeled it an inflation reduction plan, in hopes that China would risk buying more of our bonds to get the interest money, but China was more concerned they would lose everything and no deal was reached.

Now, one rotten conniving evil stinky way to delay the inevitable bond default, is to trick the elderly into killing ourselves before we realize we were scammed poor.

It is my firm conviction that Government officials lie about the opioid overdose issue and attack doctors and patients, because they fully expect abandoned patients who can get no pain relief, to kill ourselves. Once we are dead, we no longer draw a Social Security check nor Medicare benefits.

The liars who lie to us about our medicine have 140 trillion reasons to keep lying.

Thank you Claudia for a well written document and continued support of CPP.
I understand my doctor’s reluctance to treat me. However, I’m also tired of the gaslighting. For example, I was fine taking the same medication for 20 years. When I moved to a new state my medication was reduced from every 4 hours to every 6 hours. When I asked to be put back on my previous dosage I was told it wasn’t working because I had built up a tolerance. This is not true. My medication is not working because it was reduced. There’s isn’t a cure for my diagnosis of pain and as I age it’s getting worse.
Just like every other pain patient I’ve had to endure the “try this method”. Try soothing music, try yoga, try this topical, try meditation, try sound healing, try pregabalin, try physical therapy, try acupuncture, etc…
These methodologies have cost me a lot of money. Do I want to be on opioids no, but opioids are the only thing that work for me to have any quality of life. I am able to do dishes.
To make things worse, I have to jump through every humiliating hoop that’s required of me so I can have a small amount of pain medication to help me get through a day.

I had to retire early from the office of education because I couldn’t make it through the day with severe pain. These restrictions are cruel and they do not benefit our society let’s make a change quickly.

I have been chronically ill since age 4. Started with a rare form of cancer that I still have. Unfortunately I’ve been diagnosed with many autoimmune disorders since and suffer greatly under this false opioid crisis- Illicit Fentanyl Crisis. I can no longer be a productive member of society. I can’t cook dinner, take care of my son, volunteer for school activities, even showering is difficult. I’m only 46. My pain level is at a 7. I used to be able to do more. Please help me and the 40 million like me. There’s over 100,000 deaths this year alone from Fentanyl poisoning. This is a prohibition against opioid pain medication. We want to be productive & work too. We deserve a life. My son deserves a mother. So do the 40 million other families. Please Help us!

You cannot become addicted to the opioid while you were in pain. The opioid works four hours and it’s out of your system. Please free the medical doctors that have been imprisoned for practicing compassionate medicine the haters who want to put their weakness on the pain Patience who are not abusing medication is demonic and itself. They misplaced their anger to the doctors and accuse us and put fear out there while while making money on their lawsuits are very safe when you are in pain, please stop the.(Drug Supply Act) It’s an electronic surveillance of the American people in Free are opioid medicines. America was founded on libertarian ideas. Do whatever you like as long as you’re not harming others.

Here’s my story, I’m 50 male, and have degenerative bone and disc disease in my spine, osteoarthritis in both knees, herniated discs, along with CHF,DHF, hypertension, neuropathy, sleep apnea(2ltr O2), stage 4 COPD, among other diagnoses. Went to a pain dr as I couldn’t take the pain anymore, was given 1 hydrocodone 5mg once a day, for 6 months I was belittled, dr saying it’s more than enough for my 24/7 pain that affects me so bad, I can barely move most days. Stopped going, because it seemed like too much to bear for medication that didn’t do really anything for my pain.

Please my son and so many are suffering because of this - go after Street drugs not people with chronic pain that using their meds right . Us that don’t have chronic pain should have no right judging or taking away pain meds . My son has a daughter to raise if he doing his meds right then why punish him. He needs to be able to do daily tasks just like everyone else. God watch over these people who suffer with chronic pain

Thank you for everything you do for the chronic pain patients! I would like to see the folks that profited off our pain an suffering be held accountable an pay back every cent they made off our suffering paid back an for them to be jailed for putting elderly doctors behind bars an make them serve every day they had to be in there an throw more time on top of that!! An no special treatment make them serve at the WORST prisons where they would be scared for their lives!! Make them pay dearly for what they have put us though!!
